Stump Removal

Stump removal can be one of the most difficult parts of tree removal. If left unattended over time, leaving a stump in the ground becomes more than an inconvenience – it becomes a rotting habitat for pests that damage your home. Rather than trying to dig up the stump, grinding, chemicals, and burning are far more efficient and less intrusive options.

Some tree removal companies provide stump removal, and others do not. If you have had your trees removed but are still dealing with the task of removing the stump, we can help here.

There are three main ways to remove a tree stump: manually, chemically, and burning.

Manual methods include stump grinding for medium to large trees and digging out the stump to expose the root ball and tap root then cutting with an axe or bow saw - best for smaller trees.

To remove a stump with chemicals, drill holes in the stump and fill it with water and high nitrogen fertilizer. Cover with a tarp and mulch and wait for it to break down enough to remove.

Burning a stump is done by applying a stump killer product, light it on fire, and burn it to the ground level.
